This is what my bike looked like after racing.
My friend Brandon, of the Fat Tire Farm, shared a tip with me. No, not that kind. He thoroughly sprayed Pam cooking spray on my drivetrain, pedals, downtube, and derailleurs before the muddy race. Maybe it was because of that that when I hit the mud I seem to maintain a consistant speed where others slowed down. The fact that I am a beast with raw untapped power brewing within probably didn't hurt me either.
