This is the first time the message on the 21st sign was for me.

ride bike. eat glass. call grandma.
I am the boss and when I get back from San Francisco I'm going to be hiring a staff. Do you want to work in Portland's first Chrome store? Email me your resume! backyardblam@gmail.com

Ok, everyone knows now and you should too. The reason I left 21st is to open/run the Chrome store coming to Portland. Yeah... I'm the boss. I would never leave 21st for another shop, but an opportunity like this, I just couldn't pass up. Plus, with all of my hand surgeries, wrenching on bikes is painful. I am leaving for Chrome HQ in San Francisco on Monday. Get ready y'all... we're about to have an adventure!

Dirty hands are part of the trade, unless you are Sean and work with gloves. Sometimes after work I would go out and be a little embarrassed about how dirty they were. Then I'd see another mechanic out and their hands looked like mine and I knew I was in good company. There is something to be said about working with your hands. A sense of accomplishment after a job well done. I am going to miss it. In reality after all of my hand surgeries and the more surgery I need, being a mechanic right now isn't the best idea.... but, I will miss it.
